Willie Apiata VC was born on 28th June 1972. The reason he is famous is because he carried a fellow soldier across a battle field while under fire so he won The Victoria Cross in Afghanistan 2004.
Jerry Mateparae he was born on 14th November 1954. he is New Zealand's 20th and Niue's 9th Governor-General. He was chief of the New Zealand defence force between the years of 2006 and 2011 and is the second maori person to hold the office and the director of New Zealand government.
